 WIND ENERGY

Nowadays, we are moving towards a future with clean energy sources to reduce air pollution, and protect the environment, our living places, and animals. Those clean energy sources can be mentioned as solar energy, wind,....... What I am most impressed with is wind energy with giant wind turbines in the middle of the fields or in the vast ocean with blades rotating quickly.

But there are also disadvantages in completing and moving a wind turbine. The cost of manufacturing, assembling, and moving a wind turbine is currently quite high, making investors hesitant to embark on this clean energy model. According to surveys, the cost of installing, operating, and manufacturing a wind turbine is about 1,300,000 USD per megawatt, and to recover the investment, it takes at least 4 years, and the longest is 20 years. But in recent years, engineers have invented, to improve and reduce the cost of manufacturing and installing a wind turbine. Lower wind turbine prices have pushed down the cost of installation projects in the past decade. Average wind turbine prices were $800–$950 per kilowatt (kW) in 2021. The average installed cost of wind projects in 2021 was $1,500/kW, down more than 40% from the peak in 2010. Lower installation costs resulted in lower-cost energy production, with the average average cost of energy for utility-scale wind falling to $32/MW-hour in 2021.

Land-Based Wind Market Report: 2022 Edition

As for me, I like clean energy sources like the sun and wind. It is natural and we can easily use it without polluting the environment too much. Although there are still many difficulties, I believe in the future we will be able to maintain clean air, and environment and protect our common home.
