COLLEGE EDUCATION IN ARIZONA

Everywhere you have been, in my country or even in the United States, the education industry is always interested and developed everywhere in that country. It gives us more knowledge and experience from teachers and many opportunities to earn money, take care of ourselves, develop the country, and make life easier. Therefore, education is always interested in all aspects, human resources (teachers, students) and finance (by each state and school for students, and teachers).

In our state of Arizona, Governor Doug Ducey has stated that he will strive to achieve a goal of 60% of the population having a college degree by 2030. To do that, we need to recognize the issue of why a college degree is important to us. According to the article “Earning Potential Increases Significantly for Arizonans With College Degrees, and Here are the Numbers”: Most people with a college degree earn $5-30k more than those without a degree, and the numbers are there to encourage people to get a college degree".

While there are policies and financial aid to get people to go to school, I know everyone realizes that getting a college or university degree is a lot of money and time. According to ASU (Arizona State University), need an average of $27-28k ( maybe more) for a bachelor’s degree and $14k for a college degree. This is a huge number for those who want to get a bachelor's degree, although there is financial support in government programs, there are still many costs in studying, making many people think "I go to work without a degree, I still have enough to take care of myself, my family and skip getting a bachelor's degree". Both articles talk about the benefits of getting a degree but do not mention the costs, expenses, books, transportation, and student loans in the hustle and bustle of life in America.

I support and completely agree that everyone should have a college or university degree, from which life will be easier to earn more money and help the country develop faster, but we need to clearly state the limitations, difficulties of going to school, and student loans for the school and the state. From there, we can find ways to solve, help, reassure, and inspire students to complete their degrees.

  1. Hi! I agree with you, having a degree can open many doors for job opportunities or having a better quality of life, but not all of us can indeed afford to pay for college, I’ll say that is a great privilege if you get the opportunity of attending to the university. I hope that the concerns about this issue continue so more people can get their degrees.

  2. I once saw a post that not only should college be free, but that we should be payed to attend, While I do not see this feasibly happening with the system we have, it makes sense to me. College is like having a full or part time job unto itself, and the more education a population has the more accomplishments we can pursue. Also, an educated mass can more easily see through propaganda, which is good for the health of freedom. If education is a public service and upholds freedom, the pillar of America, then getting payed to go doesn't see, as ludicrous.
